We recently bought a floor model Liberty Sectional from Furniture Row after watching it for several months. It finally went on sale and we went to the store only to be told that a floor model was left. They offered to knock 50 dollars off because of it being a floor model. It was set to be delivered several days later.

It was finally delivered and at first we were pleased with the sectional until we noticed that one piece didnt feel quite right when sitting on it. Upon further evaluation, you could definately see that piece sagging to the floor compared to the others which sat a good 3 inches off the floor. We lifted that piece up and saw that the black fabric along the bottom was completely cut out and underneath the wood was shattered and cracking. Pretty amazing to us that they would knowingly sell a piece of broken furniture. When you sit on that piece it makes a loud cracking noise and is definately broken, quite upsetting that a company this size would knowingly deceive a customer to make 1500 dollars.

I will be going to the Denver store tomorrow to talk with a manager and hopefully get this resolved. Quite the frustrating experience to say the least after being so excited to get a new couch.

Interesting.You didn't notice anything wrong at first and now you're accusing them of knowingly selling defective furniture.

Furthermore, you haven't even contacted them yet to know how they'll handle the situation and you're on here complaining.

Hopefully they'll take care of the HIDDEN damage for you.

Also hope the $50 bucks off was worth all the nastiness of a floor model. Think of all the stinky/sweaty morbidly obese people who have sat on it...probably the cause of the failed structure. Kids that walked through public restroom now bouncing on it with their shoes on. Kids sitting on it with leaky diapers.

Women with poor hygiene during that special time of the month.

No different than a couch in the waiting room of a free clinic!

It's worse than used underwear...at least you can toss that into the washer with a heavy dose of bleach.:grin

I was out of town on business so I sent my girlfriend to purchase a new sectional since the sale was only 2 days long.They did not have any new sectionals left and she made the decision to go through with the purchase on the floor model since it was on sale for over 1000 off the original price.

Yes it is definately a hidden problem and you need to lift the couch up and turn it over to see it.

The point is, the whole black fabric on the bottom was cut out by Furniture Row and they knew about the problem and failed to bring this up to my girlfriend after they told her she would not be able to receive a brand new couch.The rest of your comment is something else, thanks for sharing.

It's a floor model, genius.Everyone sat on it, used it, poked at it, etc.

If you wanted perfect condition, you should have ordered a brand new one.

You're the dummy that bought a used piece of furniture, and let's face it, floor models are used items no matter what you call it, spent $1500 for a used piece and expected to get perfection.As they say, there's a sucker born every minute and you're their leader.

Whether its a floor model or not, the company should have let him know about the broken piece. In fact, the piece should have never been sold in the first place. What is wrong with people?
